Inclusive of all learners, including neurodiverse students, adult beginners, and more. Patient about progress - we can move as fast or slow as needed by the student

Building on the skills and interests the student already possesses; balance of student and teacher directed learning and selecting of repertoire

About Ms. Catherine:

  • Bachelors of Music, Choral Music Education, Piano Principal Focus, Voice Secondary focus, from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance

  • MTNA, MEA NJ, and NJMEA Member

  • Specialized focus and experience working with neurodiverse students, including those on the autism spectrum in the classroom and private music instruction settings

  • Piano training in the Taubman Technique with Sandra Tammam (Montclair State University)

  • Voice training in Bel Canto and classical voice technique, and modern musical theatre styles; my pedagogical focuses include developing and strengthening the head voice, supporting a balanced “mix” and healthy belt
